Born in Bari, she
was awarded a Laurea
in
Economia e Commercio and specialised
in
Applied Econometrics (Master Coripe, Torino, 1994;
Master in Economics, Essex, 1995; MSc in Economics,
Scottish Doctoral Programme, 1997) and was awarded the
titles of Dottore
di
Ricerca in University of Bari (1999)
and a PhD, Scottish
Doctoral Programme, 2005, in University of Glasgow
(U.K.). During 2003 and 2004 she is Marie
Curie Fellow in Ludwig Maximilian University
of Munich (Germany) and start to collaborate with Zurich
University (Switzerland). From 2009 she is visiting
professor at “Institut de Statistique, Universite
Catholique de Louvain (UCL)” (Belgium). Since January
2004, she is back in Italy, working at the University of
Salento (Lecce), from 2004-2008
with a four-years contract funded by MIUR (Italian
Ministry of University and Research, “Rientro dei
cervelli” programme). In 2008 she won the public contest
as Ricercatore
Universitario and in 2012 as Associate
Professor in Econometrics. In March 2017 she
passed National Scientific Qualification
(Abilitazione Scientifica Nazionale, ASN) as full
professor in Econometrics. From December 2020 she
is Full Professor in Econometrics at the University of
Calabria. Her research
interests are applied parametric and nonparametric
econometrics, Bayesian econometrics, efficiency and
productivity analysis using parametric and nonparametric
frontier methodology, business cycles and growth, and
sport economics. The main focus of her research is
econometric modelling to analyze efficiency and total
factor productivity for sustainable economic growth. She has published
in several international scientific journals, among
which: Econometric Journal, Journal of Applied
Econometrics, Regional Studies, Economic Modelling,
Journal of Productivity Analysis, Computational
Statistics and Data Analysis, Review of International
Economics, Applied Economics, Bulletin of Economic
Research, World Development, World Economy, Structural
Change and Economic Dynamics, Empirical Economics. She is referee for
the several scientific journals as:

December 2024, she was elected President of the Società
Italiana di Econometria (SIdE). She served as
President-Elect in 2025 and is President of SIdE for the
2026–2027 term.
